In-person appointments are generally available 6 weeks hence. One way to expedite your application would be to submit a postal application and follow-it up with a Urgent Treatment Request.

the UTR wouldn't be much use unless i had my tickets / travel dates etc. and then i run the risk of them just sending back my documents /passport if they can't meet my requested deadline, no?

think i'll just have to stay put. F*******CK.

This could happen. So combining details from your either post - either you resubmit postal application again and wait, or make your SFO trip first and then submit the application.

thanks for all the help crowbar :)

have opted for re-sending postal app, it's not worth having issues re-entering the country etc with so little time left on my visa!
