Earnings claim

Post by vip » Tue Sep 08, 2009 3:02 pm

Hi everyone,

Please help me with this query.

Is there any problem if I claim my part-time earnings when I was an undergraduate student, while I ticked "no work" in my previous application for student visa extension?

Does HO track back my previous application if I apply for Tier 1?

Any help greatly appreciated!

Students are allowed to do some part time work.

http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/howtoapply ... isitorinfo

Mandatory requirements for students and prospective students
From 1 September 2007 both visa nationals and non visa nationals are required to apply for a visa prior to arrival in the UK. This requirement is mandatory if you want to come to the UK for the purpose of study for more than six months or you are coming to study for six months or less but intend to take part-time work whilst here. The requirement to have a visa is also mandatory for prospective students.

You can use your part time earnings when you were full time student. I dont think that caseworker will go that far... I am sure you will get away with it.. 90% are the chances that it will work.

HOWEVER

Dont forget about 10% chances of unsuccessful application i.e hiding the truth in your previous application.

Therefore try to avoid doing this if you have other options!

You can claim any earning you want, however as a student in the UK you are not allowed to work more than 20 hours a week, so keep that in mind.
Please do not send me any Private Messages as I do not check these.
