for married couples

I am planning to apply for HSMP. As per the section 6 , married couple need to submit the proof of address along with marriage certificate. It says that the items "which have been addressed to you and your spouse over the past two years". Now does that mean that we need to give proof (eg. bank statement) starting from Year 2002? or any statement in the past two years would do?

Also, do we need to show any proof of funds / FDs/ Bank Statements etc to substantiate that we will be able to take care of ourselves for initial period in the UK?
