I would have thought that all income would be useful to include, to support the maintenance and accommodation requirements. Even if you're not eligible to pay income tax, you should submit income tax forms to the HM Revenue & Customs.

mrsi, are you claiming all the benefits you are entitled to? Child Benefit? You and your spouse jointly claiming Tax Credits?

And those Tax Credits, are the two of you jointly working at least 16 hours per week?
i heard they dont deduct tax on 20 hours
Not sure where you heard that, but there is no such rule. However in the UK each person is allowed to have income of £6475 per year before there is any tax liability. Which of course is a rather different rule!

I am sure that high earners, say £100 per hour, working 20 hours per week, would love the rule to say what you suggest, but that is not the way it works.

mrsi, you really should be claiming Tax Credits. You have an entitlement. Look at this HMRC webpage. Making the claim will not have any adverse effect upon the ILR application, for reasons that are detailed in the first pinned topic in the Claiming Benefits section of this board.

As regards the property matter, get a letter from your parents-in-law confirming that they pay £x to you towards the rent, and attach that the the tenancy agreement that you will be supplying.
