Previous earning period

Post by nmm » Sat Sep 12, 2009 9:43 pm

Dear seniors,

My salary slip generates on 25th of each month. I am presenting last 12 months salary i.e. Sep 2008 to Aug 2009. What dates should i write in T4 & T5 questions?

1. 01/09/2008 to 30/08/2009
OR
2. 25/09/2008 to 25/08/2009

Thanks

Does your payslip mention pay period? Are you paid on the same day as the payslip is generated?

I would advise you mention 01/09/2008 to 31/08/2009 because the pay is usually for each calendar month.

Yes actually the pay is paid on same date as of payslip but its for entire month. So we can say that payslip of 25 august shows the pay for the month of august.

Did anyone who got extensions had same kind of situation? What dates you mentioned?

Since the payslip is for the calendar month and not 25th to 25th of each month, I would advise putting in 01/09/2008 to 31/08/2009

My pay dates are the 15th of each month but even I had put 01/08/2008 to 31/07/2009.

@ nmm - HO is concerned with the calender months... and is asking you the questions.. which months you are claiming.. so as suggested above even if u r paidon Aug 25th or 15th of the month or 5th of thenext month.. you have to give the months the salaries u r claiming.. so u shd mention 1st Sep 2008- 31st Aug 2009

@sujyo..- you have to choose the RED alphanumeric no on the right top on the visa...
