For NI number, go to your nearest Job Centre and ask them for an appointment. Once you get that you will have to go for an interview where they will take records of your work permit.betterlatethannever wrote:Hi all,
Thanks to everyone especially chetanohja and others who helped me by answering my queries. Finally I reached London... travelled after 9 months...
Can anyone guide me through the process of getting NHS and NIS?
Is there anything else I need to do apart from above?

For NHS, find a local(your nearest) GP who is registering patients. You will just have to fill a form.Good to take your passport with you as well.I was asked passport while registering for GP.

Was this in London? I have registered for both NI and NHS in a much smaller town, so there was no real waiting.chetanojha wrote:Agree.cheshiregoan wrote: For NI number, go(rather call them first) to your nearest Job Centre and ask them for an appointment.
