hi there, 13 months it's damn long time. Try this number it's the UKBA hotline 01516 725 626, prompt options 232 as soon as you hear an answer machine voice, don't wait for the bla, bla... It will take some time up to 20 min, but eventually someone will pick up. You could also send e-mails to nwcsu@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk, but it is a long shot. They never replied to me, or you could write to them to these addresses:
1) NWCSU, PO BOX 99, Manchester Airport, M90 3WW or
2) UKBA, Department 88, PO BOX 306, Liverpool, L2 0QN
Good luck to you, hope this will help.

I believe a COA can take up to 3 months to be processed.

Please see the information below.

You should allow between 20 and 70 working days for your application to be
processed.

It all depends where are you applying from? In UK or outside UK? There is no harm chaising HO. So ring them and ask them if they need anything else? If not then why are they taking so long? No harm trying. Good luck.

Evidence that you are free to marry or enter into a civil partnership if you have been married or in a
civil partnership before. If you are providing divorce certificate(s) or other evidence in a language other than English, you
must provide certified translations, together with the original document(s).

Hi..

Did you get it yet?
Mine took 9 weeks to come. Applied on 22 of July, sent affidavits on 8th of September and received the COA on 2nd of Oct.

You should receive it shortly if you didnt already.

Best of luck!

What is this affidavits??

Post by Dude09 » Tue Oct 06, 2009 10:01 pm

We applied for ours early August to only receive a letter now requesting that we each send an affidavits signed in front of a lawyer. What the hell is that?

Is it worthy sending it and keep the request going, since my visa is expiring in 2 weeks and I am planning to go home and apply for an entry clearance to register our civil partnership? should I bother getting this affidavits?

Many thanks guys!

I submitted my application for a Certificate of Approval on May 8th, 2009, and I received it on June 16th, 2009. So in all it took about 6 weeks.

Good luck...
