I have a theory about why some of these applications are taking too long.I think it is related to verification checks regarding the biometrics.The UKBA are verifying these details with the home countries of the applicants especially if you entered the country before they started taking finger prints or if if the passport you currently hold is not the one you used to enter the UK(I am referring to a renewed passport).That is why in the new form they ask for the date and port through which you entered the country,the passport number you used.....this way they can tell whether you could have enter the country previously under a different name/Identity or if you have a criminal record in your home country.What do you guys think about this?
