Age calculation. Please help me

Post by gokul16 » Wed Sep 16, 2009 6:53 pm

Hello Guys,
Iam confused as to how age is calculated for Tier 1 General. I understand that anyone below 27 years is awarded 20 points. I was born in may 1982 technically I will be 27 years 9 months by the time i apply for tier 1 in Jan next year. Is this considered below 27 years or 28 years..? Your help will be appreciated .
Thanks,
Gokul.

The age limit is 28 not 27.

See the guidance notes for: Tier 1 (General) Policy Guidance page 15 of 49

Claiming Points – Initial Applications only

60. Applicants can claim points if they are under 32 years of age at the date of their application.

61. Points available are as follows:

Under 28 years of age: 20 points
28 or 29 years of age: 10 points
30 or 31 years of age: 5 points

62. The points can be claimed provided the applicant falls within the particular age band indicated above, on the date of their application.
Please do not send me any Private Messages as I do not check these.

I would say you will still be considered 27 yrs old atleast till you reach your next birthday i.e. 28th one....

Forum members can correct me if I am wrong.
