Hi Ramesh,

I have not received my documents from the IPS as yet. All i got was the interview letter, advising me to call to arrange the interview. Unfortunately due to other commitments, I could not do the earliest dates they had available so will be going this Saturday. Also, I am getting my documents sent back normal post, didn't really want to pay extra for them to be done recorded delivery.

How is you application going.

Mo

Naturalisation wait

Post by willsk22 » Wed Sep 23, 2009 11:35 am

Applied back in mid August and waited. when it seemed lots were getting Acceptance letters who`d applied after, we rang HO (in the evening on number already given- answered within coupla mins) bloke said decision has been made and letter will be recieved within 10 days... Coupla Q`s !!

1. why does it take so long (10 days) for a letter (even if it was coming 2nd class !!)

2. Is it correct to say that all decisions made within 4-6 wks tend to come back with a positive response ?!

thanks all and good luck to all !!

Ans: When I was having my oath ceremony the lady was very very helpful and she said that they receive Naturalisation certificate from Home office every tuesday. And hence this confirmed my assumption that even if the letter is ready to be sent to us the naturalisation certificate should also be reached respective council and hence they may be delaying the approval letter deliberately. Coz I took private ceremony the same day I recieved my approval letter. Hope this answers lot of other peoples query.

Did your passport interview letter come in ordinary post or special delivery?

I am a bit worried as there is a postal strike and many letters were delayed.

Also, which interview office did you use? You seem to get an interview within the next 3 days.

Many thanks!

This is a really QUICK turnaround time. Today coincidentally is my original appointment for the NCS if I had waited for it. Lucky I didn't, and even luckier I did get all my documents and passports back intact (was so worry they may lost in post).

Thanks everyone support from this forum.

Hi all,

just called HO as we`re still waiting for our decision letter which follows an acknowledgement from Mid August...

got straight through and lady advised that letter was sent on 18th Sept by 2ND CLASS POST !!!!! seriously, for the £720 for the application and countless other fees already, would have thought it`d come 1st class !! i`d even be willing to have paid £720.36 to cover a stamp !!!

Some people are getting really quick turnaround times, which makes me worry ours will come back denied !! Or do you think that if there was some problem they`d have passed it on to a case worker ???

thanks in advance and good luck

Went for passport intevriew today. Lasted about 6 minutes. They basically asked me to spell my full name, asked my mother's date of birth and place of birth, who else i lived with, who countersigned my application, how old they were and what relation they were to me, where i was born, whether i am registered on any elecoral role, whether i have an accounts, loans, mobile contracts, mortgages registered at my current address, where i would want my passport sent to.

It was very relaxed and very quick. They also advised that i would hear from IPS within 5 working days. I would either get the passport delivered, or they would write to discuss further should there be any questions over my identity. They advised if I have heard nothing after 2weeks I would need to contact them.

Just thought I would let you guys know. I just wanna say thank you to all of you for your help and support since the process begun. I am one of the most impatient people in the world, but this process has been made so much easier by your encouraging words, your strength and you stories. I will let you know what happens.

More update from me.... The interview appointment is not as readily available as I thought. Basically in London there is nothing within the next 2 weeks. I had to book one in Chemlsford, but even that is one weeks away. One good thing is that most interview offices are open on Saturdays, so I got an appointment on a Saturday.

I applied on 16th july but haven't heard from homeoffice, just called them today again and advised all checks have been completed and application is currently being in the queue and waiting for caseworker allocation.

Any advise from seniors please.
