To chess

Post by yodiyokun » Tue Oct 18, 2005 10:40 am

Bunto,
I am sure chess did not mean any harm do not feel insulted.
we are here for each others good..
Chess
if you had read this dicussion from the begining,
you will see that i asked for hints on attending the interview.
My husband did same last friday and i have detailed his experience.
I also mentioned that the ECO refused to make a decision .. she said she will get back to us at a later date.
I have vented my anger here... and from johns contributions so far... he has heldped shed more light on the accomodation issue.

I believe my documentation is ok.. i only want to see whether i need to send additional docs in situations where she asked a question my husband couldnt substantiate well.... hence the issue of accomodation and job offer, and really from various peoples experiences on this board and from the moderators contributions... i havent seen anything on proving overcrowding nor presenting a firm job offer..

Chess.. i have not been refused yet and bunto hasnt gone for an interview yet either...
but as you know nigeria post is a bit difficult and its better to be well prepared.
If you have any additions to what john as said especially on the issue of job offer.. we gladly welcome it.

You dont need a Job offer for HSMP.

If the ECO is to refuse the application the reasons will be.

1). Documentation submitted is FRAUDULENT

2). Lack of sufficient funds

3). Lack of accomodation

Good luck

Thanks.
I actually know all those really, but sometimes it seems the ECOs dont.
To tell you the truth, i had enough evidence to prove all those and not one of my docs is forged.

Anyway lets wait for her decision... and will tell you guys what she comes up with. if she grants it..good for me..if not i will tell you her reasons for refusal.
Thanks once again

Thank you. I am actually just puttting my Docs together. I hope to send d application next week.

I am actually not applying for the Children now, cos i have a handful. I don't want to give the ECOs the joy of turning down my application :).

I guess i can always do that after settling down, hope there is no regulated time as to when to apply for them.

Thank you

I beg your pardon. Does British Airways and KLM gets overloaded.

I will ignore the fact that you made that comment and forgive you.

chess,
just found out some of this soo called broadcast stations are overrated!!!
can u imagine CNN saying sometime sunday noon that there were 50 survivors..............when the plane hadnt been located... They must have used some form of telepathy or something.

Bellview airline has proved to be quite reliable in nigeria plying international and local routes.... no over crowding i assure you though Lagos to abuja is a busy route almost all the airlines have flights there every 2 hours.

Its just unfortunate really.......... could have been virgin nigeria...would have sunk their rep be4 they started operations....

We all know communication is difficult in nigeria.... but sometimes these people just dont give us a break... the plane crashed a distance from a village....... in the bush... that place didnt even have easy access to the outside towns till yesterday.

and nigerian officials never said there were survivors. I was glued to the TV that day....
they kept saying they couldnt locate the crash site yet..... and the first TV station that got there broadcast it.
I really wonder where these correspondents get their info.
Fine naija isnt a developed country and we are way behind in soo many things but for Gods sake ....

BBC forgot to mention that the pilot of that plane has an imepaccble record and was recently suspended for refusing to fly a plane he felt wasnt fit to be in the air. He was safety crazy.....
I dont have any close family affected..but its really upsetting.

Hmm my dear,
Thanks for your concern.
We called them last on Monday and nothing as at at then.
Hope to call them again this afternoon to see whats up.
I wonder of they can hold an application for so long without making a decision?

Can you believe this....
Its more than 3 weeks and no decision yet.

I have been advised to exercise patience as lagos is a very busy mission
but for how long will we wait..its getting annoying,
and the approval letter expired last week....so if we get a refusal now we will be left to appeal... we cant reapply.
Its really unfair.

Yodiyokun

What could have gone wrong? Do we have other people who also applied in Lagos?

I am not sure people that applied through Abuja, had it this rough.

I am confused here. :?

Isnt there a mandatory turn-around time for applications - usually 24hrs!

I think you ought to phone the guyz and ask them what the heck is going on...- was the application documentation referred to HO in London?

3 weeks is extremely long time for EC decisions

Chess

It is not just 3 weeks, it is actually 3 weeks after interview. I guess if i am right the application went 4 weeks before they were called for interview.

In effect it is now 7 weeks.

yes chess,
bunto is right its 7 weeks now.

Bizarre is an understatement....
I had to visit an immigration lawyer last week
and he said he has a case on his hands that has waited for 3 months after the interview without a decision... same lagos mission. he told me to exercise more patience.

we have called them twice each week ...they keep saying the officer in charge is making enquiries????
no enquiries have been made at either of our offices or Banks!!!

Well lets wait and see ....one day will be one day.

I dont seem to be following you guys. Is Yodi saying that she hasnt got response after interview or they havent called her for interview. Well my experience at Abuja - I forwarded my documents thru courier on April 17 and I got response thru the courier company roughly 3 weeks after, asking me to come for interview on May 18 (thats a month altogether). The interview was around 10 am and the EC was issued by about 1.30pm.

I understand there are usually delays in Lagos because of the volume of applications, meanwhile check Alagomeji posts. I advice you guys to do some leg work on the forum, most of the info you required are already in place. Cheers.
