Address for Dependent to Tier 1 General

For applicant who is converting from Dependent to Tier 1 has to go to home country to file for application.

Question is what address / contact details needs to be provided? should it be local address in india?

I was think of giving india address as dependents are applying afresh application leaving UK. Any advice? And passport will be couriered in india.

Under normal circumstances you should provide the address of the country from where you are applying for entry clearance. And as far as I know, it is not advisable to send passport by courier. If you get visa, how would you go back to your country after that entry clearance? I think you should go back to your country and then apply. Wait for another experienced answer or correction of my point of view by some experienced guy.

It is not permitted to send your passport outside the country by courier.

As for address, it is advisable to give a local contact address.

So dependent applicant is going india to apply for Tier 1. Now what contact address does he need to give in the application form which needs to be submitted to VFS? Given that he has earned and has been living in UK (and still living in UK but just gone to india to convert from dependent to Tier 1).

I think india address as "Contact Details" is better since he applying from there. Any suggestions?

Well since there is space for both Home Address and Contact Address, maybe you can put UK as home and India as contact. Just a suggestion...
