HSMP Extension out side UK when the initial VISA not used

Hi,

I have got my HSMP on 28 Feb 2008 and valid till 28 Feb 2010. But, I have not traveled to UK on this visa. Right now I am in Australia.

I am planning to travel to UK on HSMP.

Can I get an extension in this situation since I have 4 months left? what should I do?

Any suggestions will be appriciated.

You cannot apply for an extension while you are outside of the UK.

The purpose of them granting the VISA is that you work and contribute(see that as pay taxes) to their economy. If you havent stayed in the UK or worked there in the last one year before the application for extension, I am afraid, you cannot extend your VISA

The guys has extended visa although he NEVER worked in UK..He just came to Uk during the fag end of his visa to extend it and got the extension...If you get points then you will get extension..
Even i am surprised by this,but "technically" you can do it..
(Obviously ,you will never get ILR but thats s seperate issue)

Obviously this is news for me. I cannot doubt the authenticity, but I will double check once. Anyway apologies if I have given a wrong advice...
