Hi all. This post is just to help a friend.

He's on 5 yrs NON-EEA Residence Card married to an EEA national. The wife (EEA) is already claiming Housing benefits as a single mother. Can he add him name to the claim or would that negatively affect his PR application.

Wait a minute, there is a more serious issue here. Is the wife who is claiming HB reporting here husband's income to the HB office? If not, that is benefit fraud ... assuming the couple are living together.

And what about Tax Credits? Is that claim in joint names? Or is the wife claiming that as well in her sole name?

His application for confirmation of PR status will not be affected if the relevant benefit office knows about the husband.

But how is the wife, the EEA Citizen, exercising her Treaty Rights at the moment? Employed? Self-Employed? A self-sufficient person? Or how?

I went through the EEA4 form and there is no mention of Public Funds disclaimer. Does this mean that claiming benefits (if they qualify) in general by EEA national or their non-EEA family members does not affect future applications for PR.

I confirm that to be the case. No problem in such a couple claiming any benefits that their circumstances dictate they are entitled to.
