British Citizen by Descent or Birth?

Hello All,

My relative was born in the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland in 1952. Both her parents were born in the UK. She has a British passport. Is she a British citizen by birth or descent? Specifically, can she pass on her British citizenship to any children born outside the UK?

The Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland didn't come into existence until 1953, and for British nationality purposes not until 1958.

Where was she born?

And when were her children born?

She was born in Bulawayo, which I guess was in Southern Rhodesia at that time. Childern born in the United States. Are the children U.K citizens?
