Hi Sidster007,

I understand there are delays in taking money however processing time is less 5 weeks. I hope you will get approval within 5 weeks.

Good Luck

Hi Sidster007,

I don,t think so its worth to calling HO , In my case they charged my debit card after 6 days, just wait another 3 days end of this week, i hope so definetly they will charge your credit card in next 3 days.

I know its very frustating after submiting apllication. Best of luck.[/quote]

I would be very grateful if you can let me know how does it work?
i applied for naturalization (wife + spent 9 years in the country) on the 20th August via NCT. I called HO on the 29th Sept and was told that the decision was made on the 28th Sept. I'm still waiting for the letter to arrive (bloody postal strike). If the decision is positive, apart from the letter from the HO, should I be expecting an letter- invitation from the council for the ceremony as well, or should I book the ceremony after I receive a letter from the HO? I'll be calling HO tomorrow to ask to resend the letter as it's getting ridiculous.
Many thanks!
Hello,

anybody knows or am I posting in a wrong location?
hi rakushka,

I received the approval letter from the HO and then 11 days later I received the Ceremony Invitation letter. Having said that though, i know a couple people on this site who had only one letter which advised they could use it as the invitation ceremony letter too.

From my understanding, you should receive 2 letters separately.

Hope this helps

sidster007 I'm sure they will take the money out soon, maybe they have already done so but it takes a few days for it to reflect on your account. they got my application last tuesday and they only took the money on friday and the money only reflected in my balance on tuesday this week.
Regarding the letter I was just joking. Trust me the HO will take your money whether or not your application is right

Taliska thanks for your message. Just as I began to moan on this forum I saw that the amount is now waiting in the list of recently authorised transactions on my card ! apparently it was put through by the HO on Wednesday and should hit my account balance (yes HIT is the right word) by Friday or Saturday.

Looks like they do follow a similar pattern...charging people 2-3 days after receiving the application....

Folks obviously the upcoming postal strike (damn whoever is to blame for these strikes !!) will have an effect on when we receive communication from the home office. Just wondering if it effects the timelines for the verification checks that the home office carries out?? any insight?

Hi Tonyz,

Sorry to hear that you've had such a tough time with the process. Not really sure what they mean when they say the application is still under progress. Did you apply through a lawyer or urself? also are there any complications in ur case? did you leave the UK for an extended period of time or did you switch between different employers/ types of visas or do you have any points on your license??

Hope you get positive results really soon mate ! hang in there !

Hi Tonyz. It might be possible that because of your country of origin extra checks need to be done. Have you ever had issues with the council, police or government agency?
