ILR appointment

Post by abbas18 » Thu Oct 15, 2009 9:53 pm

Hi,

I have an ILR appointment at Croydon next week. My application is based on 5 years on WP+HSMP+Tier1. I have 3 dependants on my application (wife + 2 kids under 5).

I have been employed throughout the last 5 years. I would be grateful if I can get some guidance on the sort of documents I will need to take with me for my appointment (apart from the obvious, eg. passports, photos, etc.)

Also do my wife and kids need to accompany me or can I get their passports processed myself?

Thank for your help in advance.

Hi abbas, how early did you had to phone to secure an appointment. I can't get an appointment (on internet) for the rest of the year.

addas18 you need all the documents listed at the end of the form related to your category of application such as bank statements for the spcified period(see the form), wage slips, P60's, Life in the UK pass certificates(originals) for both you and wife, children Birth certificates, marriage certificates, you and wifes' birth certificate, letters from employers(for you and wife if she is employed) which state your job description, earning when started with them and that you are going to continue employment with them, PASSPORTS for everyone, letters from the childrens school saying that they are students there etc.... Anything else which will help your application to go through smoothly, but the minimum is the documents listed at the end of the application form....
When I sent for my families ILR these are the Documents I sent and went through quickly within 5 wks

Taliska - thank you for your response. Do my wife & children have to go with me to Croydon office as I am applying in person?

No, they don't have to be there, just their documents. Also, it's usually a long wait (few hours to whole day), so bringing the children is not a good idea, even if they are available. Bring something to read.

Good luck!

Hi

I have made an appointment at croydon for ILR application.I have got a 18month old child.I am not sure if i should take him for the appointment. Can someone help me please.

Also i entered UK on 16th Dec 2004 and will be eligible forr ILR on Dec 16th 2009.It is stated that we can apply 28 days before the date of eligibility. So does this rule apply to applying in person as well??

Thanks

Bani - thanks for the tip and wishing me luck. My appointment is at 2:30PM so I guess they cannot delay me until next day??

Vvippala - based on the advice I have been given, you do not need to take dependents with you. And yes you can apply 28 days in advance of 5 years in person.
