How much are you weeling to pay for the ILR ?

Post by balded » Sun Oct 18, 2009 7:22 pm

I paid recently almost £1900 for the ILR + solicitor fee !

The govenrment raises the fee on average every two years.

I wonder how much each one of you guys is willing to pay for it ?

Imagine that ILR would cost £10,000. Would you pay it or leave the country ?

I'm asking because to my opinion the fee is already too high and it is expected to be higher once the new 'earned citizenship' scheme is introduced.

To be honest the government could charge the £10,000 as you mentioned and people would still pay it if they wanted it. It's a bit like cigarettes and alcohol in that you can ramp up the price and people will still buy it.

i agree, it shouldn't be much more. i agree that if ILR cost £2000, it is still worth it for us, but what are we paying for, obviously more than just the processing.

UKBA is consulting the public about increasing their fees. please respond to this charging consultation.
