Study by Tier1

Post by houman1979 » Wed Oct 21, 2009 12:29 pm

Hi,

I am going to apply for Tier 1. I have a question, can I study for PhD as a part time (or full-time) student while I am in UK with Tier 1?

Regards

Yes, if you can get a chance to do so!! I saw some people on the forum doing so.

You can.

But bear in mind that you may need points from the previous earnings section if you require extending your leave to remain.

I am saying this as a full time study may prevent you earning much. 50 points from PhD might not be enough to make your points exceed 75. Of course the rules by then might be totally different.

Also, as per current rules, he cannot use scholarship amounts as an earning source.
