Work permit expiry - philippines nurse

Post by Rachel24 » Thu Oct 22, 2009 7:52 pm

Hi

my friend from work is here on a work permit which expires in January. She's a nurse and her husband is here as her dependent, they have had children here since they came too.

Our employer isnt a registered sponsor and wont/cant become one in time - are there any other ways she can get further leave to remain and extend her stay in teh UK (and hopefully carry on working).

They've only been here for 3 years so cant apply for indef leave to remain...any other ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

1 - Moving to other employer
2- Moving to Tier 1
3- Husband can apply student visa and wife can be dependent
4-Can husband apply WP or Tier1?

Thanks you for your response.

I will mention these options to her, thank you!

I'm not sure they will qualify for Tier 1 from what I have heard about it - she is only a nurse and I dont know if her qualifications would be enough.

I'll have a dig about the UKBA website with her

Any other response/thoughts welcomed!
