Guys do you think the HO will take into consideration tomorrow and next week's 3 day postal strike to extend the amount of time available to people to book their citizenship ceremonies. Taliska mentioned that they give you 14 days to contact your local council.

Taliska, It is really good turn around with your case. Some one else mentioned on this forum as well that they deal family applications more quicker then others. And Sidster I dont think so they work by some one's country of origin. But what more excites me more is that they work on regions. Say application from North is bit slower then application from south.

Let me put it in a better way. Say home office is divided in four regions. NORTH, EAST, SOUTH AND WEST. And each region has a team. All the teams are not same. One is much more efficient then other. That is the case I believe. As applications from North has really been slower in many cases where applications from south region have been fairly quick.

It could be that there are separate teams for postal and NCS applications. Anyways I'm just speculating here...who knows what's the truth behind this. I think it just boils down to the caseworker you get on the day and how many applications he is dealing with.
Good luck to us all.

hi bechir

Don,t worry i hope so it will definitely be a positive response. The only thing u need to worry is about these postal strikes, which will make ur frustration more worse.

Be Positive u r nearly there

thanks everyone for the good wishes. I wasn't able to get in contact with the person at the registry office who deals with the citizenship ceremonies. They said they would call back but no response and when I tried again he was out. Typical. Hope to get through on monday

Hey guys I rung up the HO on Friday and a very friendly and helpful lady at the other end told me that all the checks on my application had been carried out and that it appears to be all ok. Now the application is in a Q waiting to be allocated to a case worker who has the authority to decide or ask for further detailed checks. She wouldn't say what that meant from a timeline perspective. Any thoughts based on the experience you guys have had with this?

If all the checks have been done and they are happy with the results how long do you reckon it would take for the application to be approved??

I asked the lady whether NCS or the postal route was better and she said that the processing time does not depend on the mode of delivery.

Hi Sidster,

Its good that all the checks had been carried out, so its mean your application is nearly there to get approved, the most important check is the security check which is based on police record, i am not sured but i think so they called it PCN check, after that your application will take nearly 1 or 2 weeks to be approved.

Don,t worry mate i think so you will get good news in nearly 2 weeks.
