Is a Tier 1 Dependent Visa holder eligible to study in UK?

Post by dwaraka » Tue Oct 27, 2009 11:44 pm

I am presently in US and hold a Master's degree in EE.
I am planning to apply for Tier 1 (General) category for myself and dependent visa for my wife.

I would like to know if she can study in UK on dependent Visa. She holds a Bachelors in Engineering from India.

She can do anything in UK, except doctor in training.

mvent00: thanks for the reply.

Do I have to apply for a Tier 4 (General) Student Visa for her or the Tier 1 General Dependent Visa is good enough to study in UK?

She has the leave to remain and related rights (including studying) as a Tier 1 dependant. So, you do not need another visa for her.

I have two more questions...

1) Can she also work on Tier 1 (General) dependent Visa right away?

2) If not, after studying in UK for her her MSc degree, can she work?
