Won at AIT. Now how to get the ILR stamp?

Post by bototo » Sun Nov 01, 2009 8:00 pm

My mother finally got ILR as per my previous threads. We got the judgement from the AIT about two months ago.

What happens now? Will the UKBA send her the ILR document? Do we need to wait for them to get in contact and ask for the passport? Or is there some further form to fill and formal process we need to go through?

Thanks in advance.

The AIT will send the result of the judgement to the home office. It is the HO that will contact you. If you have a solicitor, you need to ask him to chase the HO up for you.

that is right, the AIT will send the judgement to you and to the Home Office,

And Home Office will send your file from the case working unit to its Case Management Unit in Sheffield I believe. CMU will normally write to you and ask the passport and 4 passport size photos (because HO sends the passport back to you with their refusal decision, it will then be processed to court by yourself). CMU will than see the files according to the arrival queue. It does normally take 3 months for them to process, endorse the relevant stamp and post back to you

You or your solicitor might need to contact Sheffield office if they still have not asked your passport or if they have asked but it was more than 3 months ago
