hi Guys,

Finally got my approval this morning. Luckily I got late leaving for office and got the special delivery just before I left.

Here are my complete timelines:

Application sent via next day delivery: 8th October
Application received by HO: 9th October
Payment debited: 14th October
Reference number received: 27th October (yeah that late!!!)
Visa approved: 2nd November
Documents received via self-addressed special delivery envelope: 4th November

Processing times:

1) Payment debit: Took 4 working days.
2) Processing after payment debit: 14 working days (including the date payment was debited)

One quick tip for people attaching self-addressed special delivery envelopes, do remember to note the tracking number for the return envelope as it might not be on the receipt for the outgoing parcel.

I forgot to do this and spend 2 weeks of frantic guessing on the post office tracking page:).

Thanks for all members for their help while I was struggling with the form. This forum rocks! I would try my best to help prospective applicants as well!

ID and nm, any updates on your side?

Yeah the timelines are incredibly screwed up. I think as someone rightly said earlier it depends on which caseworker your case gets assigned to.

I also think it may depend on if your case is straightforward or complicated the the clarity of documentation.

Finally to predict when a particular case will turnaround is rocket science!

Thanks guys it feels good! In my initial hsmp application I took the help of an agency to prepare all the docs, now I wonder if I should have just followed this forum, would not have been tough at all to do it all by myself :).

myegin, wasa, ID and duvvuri, thanks for your wishes pal. Hope things soon work out for ID and myegin and in time for Duvvuri for his wife to make her trip.

Ramesh, yeah its all about holding nerves , though I am not sure if I held them too well :). I am one of the most paranoid members on the group :P.

Thanks again guys!

You can not beat myself or imran22 about being paranoid :) Look, he has already opened a thread asking about the case RM loses the post. Well, touch wood noone experiences that of course.

Hi IUOHsmp:

I agree but i would also say that times like things brings out the best n worst of us.. i was equally or might be more paranoid when it was my time of waiting :P

Anyways, now it is the turn of others, letz wish them all the best and trust they come out in good colours and with +ve approvals

nm, thanks mate. Well you have your reference number now, thats progress. Dont worry you will get your decision soon.

By the way, did you use a self-addressed special delivery envelope? And do you have the tracking number for the same?

Hi all

I have just received my Tier 1 extension. Below is the timeline:

Expiry before application: 15 October 2009
Application sent: 13 October 2009 (by special delivery, a pre-paid SD envelope included) - I had to wait until I became eligible with regards to the maintenance requirement
HO received: 14 October 2009 (This is also the date on the ack. letter)
Payment method: Postal order
Payment deducted: 14 October 2009
Ack. letter received: 16 October 2009
Visa stamped: 03 November 2009
Documents received: 05 November 2009 (in the pre-paid envelope I sent)
Current Expiry: 03 November 2012
Processing time: 21 days

Thanks a lot to everyone who contributed to this forum. And thanks to Julian (guess he is the caseworker, I didn't check the title) whose signature is under my approval letter.

Cheers...

Stay calm. Application timelines varies from case to case basis. If you have submitted all correct documents..you have nothing to worry about.
