visa application status

What are the visa application status in VFS website once submit the application? It has gone from 'Visa application passed to BHC' to 'application under process'.

It is for an elderly settlement visa (I guess the application process will be same as any other settlement visa), applied from Chennai, India.

Has any one applied from VFS chennai and how long does it take these days? Do they return the passport earlier or at the end with decision?

Hi,
normally it takes 2 working weeks for general visa applications.Once the decision is made,status will change and then u'll have to ring or collect ur passport(unless u have opted for courier service)next day.Hope that helps.Again it is just my own experience,for u it might be different as BHC consider all applications individually.

Thanks for your reply. What about the supporting documents? Would they return it before they make the decision on application?
