Hi Guys, Need some help….For extension.
Can someone please let me know what’s the time frame for apply for a Visa extension? Like, can I apply for an extension whenever I think I am ready which might be 6 months before my Visa Expiry Date, Or I can only apply for extension xxx months before my Visa expires date?

Please help… My present situation is, My Visa expires on 16 April 2010, can I apply now for an extension.

You may apply early; would be better if you can also provide genuine reason for early extn; however there's still a risk that caseworker may decide to issue you visa from the decision date rather than current expiry date.

If this (visa issued from decision date) does happen this might also mean that you may be short of ILR period (possibility that ILR period be changing in future)

According to HO we shd apply for extension only 28days before expiry of the current visa BUT

many here, even i applied many months early and the max. earliest we saw here was 6months.

if you dont have any urgency its better to keep that earlier date to a max of 3-4months earlier to just give u a chance/time if things go wrong to reapply..

unless you have solid reson and mood of CW is crucial factor otherwise u will loose yr fees
