Urgent - Mismatch in names

Post by aksh_uk » Sun Nov 08, 2009 2:23 am

Hi,

I am planning to aply for Tier1 next week and have arranged all the required docs. But while going through my documents I got one doubt onmy all educational certificates. On all of my educational certificates my father names is mentioned in Initial letter of name. Ex. If father name is mentioned as "Akhil Kumar Sharma" in passport, on all educational cert it mentioned as "A K Sharma". Can this cause any problem to my application. If yes what can be done to solve this.

Thanks in advance.

Hi tvn_ramesh,

Thanks for your reply.
In my case its the same scenario as mentioned. In all the educational certificates father name is mentioned as "Sh. A K Sharma" but in passport its mentioned as "Sh. Akhil Kumar Sharma".
I am not sure if caseworker can reject my application based on this.
Would it be adviceable to check with HO also for the same.

Thanks

you can attach a covering letter explaining the situation with your direct contact number but I do not think it should affect your application.

It will be fine unless there are spelling differences in the name.

Hi Chetan/Ramesh,

Needs you suggestion on this.
If I say anything about this on the cover letter then I have to give proof of it(some sort of affidavid from notary, I am applying from Bangalore).
Or the other way is to just leave this as it is as suggested by you. I have seen lot of people having father's name as initials on educational certificates but full name in passport. Even this is being verified by one of the consultant.

With the 1st option I feel I am complicating my application.

Please help, I am in big confusion.

Thanks in Advance
