can my husband who has been a dependant for five years and working for five years apply for indefinite leave to remain?

need more details, In which catagory he came to UK, whats the current status etc etc........???/

i am currently on a student visa and my husband was on a student visa then changed to be my dependant for five years. I have been on a student visafpr 7 years.

So are you saying that he has been "legal" in the UK for the last 10 years? If yes, he can indeed apply for ILR, as long as he has passed the Life in the UK Citizenship test.

He has been in the UK for a total of 8 eight years of which he has been a student for 3 years and 5 years as my dependant. I am on a student visa.

Has to be ten years, but watch for out-of-country switches - was he required to switch out-of-country when he did and was there a gap where he had no visa?

thanx. I dont know what out of country switches are, but there were no gaps in his visa.

To switch from student to dep. u have to switch from u home country now - I think five yrs ago u didnt need to but I could be wrong.
