Visa application for dependent (my wife)

Hi

I am working in UK under Tier – 1. I need some help with regard to visa application from Karachi, Pakistan for my wife.
- Which visa application form is required? It used to be VAF1 but now it is confusing because there is form for dependent (Spouse).
- What kind of document is required for visa application from Karachi?
- How long does British High Commission take to make a decision?

here is my check list which i used last moth and got the decision in 10 working days

VAF 10 Application Form
1 Passport
2 TB Certificate
3 Dependent’s CNIC (Computerized National Identity Card) in English
Dependent’s CNIC (Computerized National Identity Card) in Urdu

4 Relationship Evidence/Wedding proof
4a Marriage Certificate (Nikah Nama) in English and Urdu.

4b Photos of Wedding (Barat Ceremony)

4c Photos of Reception (Valima Ceremony)
4d Post Marriage photos of Mr and Mrs. xxxx.

4e Wedding invitation Card.


5 Misc Documents

5(a) Copy of E-ticket and invoice of Air ticket of mr xxxx when he travelled to Pakistan for wedding
5(b) Copy of passport page number xx and xx showing entry and exit stamps during wedding days. (Photocopy of other pages provided in section 6-a.)

5(c) Remittances made by xxxxx to my account via xxxxx Bank UK for my personal expenditure after marriage

marrige certificate in English must rest may be given not required to prove marriage.

1. How many bank statements are required (in term of months)?

2. How many pay slips are required?

3. I have a letter from my Bank dated Oct'09 and confirming my employment. is that enough for proof of employment?

4. I have plan to bring my wife in June 2010 but she is applying her visa in mid December 2010. what date should she mention in VAF10 form for arrival?

5. How much maintenance fund is required? Do i need to show maintenance fund for both of us or just for her?

-- Actually apart from maintenance funds statements nothing is required; but it is good to attach last 6months bankstatements

2. How many pay slips are required?

--Again not required; but good to attach atleast last 6months

-- Not required;

4. I have plan to bring my wife in June 2010 but she is applying her visa in mid December 2010. what date should she mention in VAF10 form for arrival?

-- she can mention date of travel 3months from the day she is applying, so put it accordingly


5. How much maintenance fund is required? Do i need to show maintenance fund for both of us or just for her?

-- 800+ 1600 you shd show for You+All dependents

Are you sure about maintenance fund required amount. I have seen on the home office site that if someone living in UK for more than 12 months then he/she needs £800 (for him/her self) and £533 (for spouse).

My spouse is in Pakistan and I am in UK for more than 12 months.

Correct me if I am wrong?

i supplied 5 month bank statements

i supplied 5 month payslips

i'll suggest use all the letters dated no more than one month old from your date of application

i suggest you put a date two weeks from the date of your application. for e.g put 15jan if you apply on 1st jan so that they can prioritize your case. i did the same and i got the visa on the same date i put in the application.

follow ramesh advise plus show some healthy bank balance, i showed near 5K

Hi,
I got my tier1 visa on Nov 2009 and still in India.I'd like to apply dependant visa for my wife and kid.I've withdrawn the maintenance fund after my tier1 was received.

Please let me know what are all the proof I ned submit for my wife and kid?

As I have withrdrwan ghe maintenace fund,How can I show the maintenace fund for my family?

can i open a new bank account on my wife's name and deposit the amount?
