Credit/Debit Card

Post by vks » Thu Nov 12, 2009 6:46 pm

Hello friends,

I am in the process of extending my Visa from HSMP to Tier 1.(In country)

In Section 1 -Payment details Q A6, there is an option to chose the Visa/Mastercard or Delta/Maestro. on Page 5 of the Tier 1 application form,
I find the following details:
• *Credit card - Mastercard or Visa including
Electron)
• *Debit card - Delta, Maestro** (including
Solo)

Since my credit card has insufficient credit for the Fees, I am planning to pay it by my Barclays DEBIT Card. (which has VISA on it)

Question:
Can I use my Barclays DEBIT CARD for filling in the section A6 (as VISA/Mastercard)?

Thanks much for your suggestions!
Regards,
vks

adding to ramesh's comment above, make sure you inform your bank about this transaction. Many a times banks block large transactions suspecting it as fraud.

Sandeep..

the reason CHETHAN adviced to inform becos, it would be wise to do so as esply these days when all banks are tightening their security levels..

And you dont want HO payment to get rejected thus result in refusal/delay in application

Trying to give the best possible advice.. cheers

It's better safe than sorry. A phone call to bank can save you hassles, panic and unnecessary costs.

Thanks Chetan for your valuable advise. I have same problem as vks. To be honest I didnt read the payment guidelines and used my Visa Debit card from Lloyds TSB. I dont want to change it now, instead I will inform Bank.

Debit Card is fine too. Shouldn't be a problem. Informing bank is an extra precaution. Do not loose your sleep over it.
