Yodi

Like i said earlier we were called on d phone to attend interview d next day.

The ECO asked us 4 our docs and we told her that they still have it and she fetched it out. This questions of hers, i want to believe means they still send docs back thru courier.

I was actually fretting cos i sent my docs 5 weeks to my planned departure. Going by other pples experience with turn around time here in Nigeria, i was thinking that my application will barely be approved b4 d date of planned departure.

I am actually short of words. This is obviously the Lord's doing and it is marvelous in my sight.

Congs once again - just goes to show that ECOs in nigeria do actually grant EC...(although sometimes its a bit of a lottery - but shouldnt be like that)..

well start buying winter clothing as it is absolutely freezing at the moment thats why i am running back to Africa for x-mas

yeah they do grant EC ..if they dont at all people would have stopped applying long time ago...but like you said its almost a bit of lottery.
and thank God this forum helped those who were granted to get it right the first time.

as for coming to africa for xmas... i hope theres no harmattan where you are going.... uuurgh im sure i'll hate it more than winter.

Yodi

Please tell me, you mean our harmattan is worse than winter. Pardon me for my ignorance, it's just that i've never experienced winter.

I'm actually not an adventurous person, i've not passed my neighboring country.

Chess

As for winter clothes, i guess i need to arrive there before i can get that. Where can i get them immediately i get over. Another thing is, how easy is it to pick up a mobile phone sim and handset.

I need all d advice. Thanks

well winter is harsher... but in winter yu have heaters while in harmattan u have both heat, dust and harsh weather... to me its always uncomfortable..cos there are no remedies.

but at least with winter there are winter cloths and almost everywhere you get to is heated except the open street

this is my personal opinion.

as for clothes..maybe you should post this on the general forum...

but it shouldnt be a problem ..... buying anything in Uk is very very easy compared to naija... but I think shopping on visits maybe different from shopping to stay.... cos u will want to get a fairly good quality at an affordable price to cut down on ur expenses

mods ..please help bunto out here

Bunto,

dont worry about winter - you will get used to it. the only other annoying thing as that most Brits do not smile that much during winter (save for the 'fake' smiles).....

But x-mas is always a gootime..

Or by the way, for those of you who like a few drinks here and there - some pubs are now allowed to open throught the day - i.e 24hrs....

EC approval

Post by funmilola » Thu Dec 01, 2005 7:57 am

Dear Bunto,

I am so happy for U. Congrats on your EC approval. It is indeed the Lord's doing. I wish U all the best and U shall eat the good of that land Amen.

Concerning buying winter clothes at least Jackets U can pm me and I will tell U where cause U cant arrive UK in the winter without at least one jacket or will U have someone waiting for U at the airport - U can ask the person to meet U with a jacket.

Once again congrats
