Query on dependent visa

Hello,

As per visa rules, I have to maintain GBP 1600 extra if my dependent is going to come to UK within 12 months.

In my case, My dependent will come to UK only and only when I manage to get a job. If I don't get a job in 2 months, then I'll come back to my country. Nothing is sure yet. My dependent won't be applying now. If I get a job in 2 months or so, then only she will apply for visa n all that.

Do I need to maintain GBP 1600 extra in such case???

Hi Milind,

The only thing that matters is when she applies for her visa how long you have been in the UK.

If you have been in the UK less than 12 months, then you need to show £1600 for her, else £533.

£1600 or £533 PLUS your funds of 800£, so it will be

Applying before 12months = 1600+800 or
Applying after 12months = 533+800

Ok.. Does that mean I don't have to show GBP 1600 extra when I am applying for HSMP (Only me and not my wife). And later on once I get HSMP+Job then I can show those 1600 so that my wife can apply on the basis of that.
