When does the royal mail tracking no. get activated. I mean after 20days time do we need to check it daily,

I m trying to do it bt there the reply is like no information.

I applied on 29th reached HO on 30th and those who applied exactly 1 week before me got on 10 and 11th in tht case i shud b expecting something.

But i sometimes really dnt understand how does HO work

As u all know my wife has to go to india on 20th now she lost all her hopes and nothing to do till we get our visa

Well for special delivery it can actually get activated anytime. I used to check a couple of times at night, and definitely once before I left for office and then almost every 10 minutes in office :).

However, my case was funny as I forgot to note down the return envelope tracking number :) and so was always shooting in the dark, around the tracking number for my outgoing application :).

How about payment duvvuri, when did your payment go through?

Yeah yours is one curious case, theres a lot of nail biting suspence!

Duvvuri,

I am more stressed than you.
applied 26th Oct
Fee deducted 27th
I have not received the acknowledgment letter yet!! Isn't it strange? (It shouldn't be because of strike because I receive lots of letters everyday from different organizations. everybody needs the ref no for further communication.

I want to arrange courier for collecting my documents but I don't know what to do. I don't want my documents to be lost in the post. They are more important than the visa.

Mah,

Nothing to get tensed abt ref no. as they have deducted the fees means they got ur application. I knw how it ll b bt still. And i guess u shud getting ur result this week.

As per the website they wnt see my application as I applied on 29th, and in UKBA site it says from 16th nov they will consider application received on or before 28th oct.

Even m nt sure mah bt i guess it shud b less than 50. And when i see trackitt site in tht there is hardly 1 or 2 ppl who applied on 26th octo to 30th octo. Thts wht even i wonder y r they taking so much time to send the documents. I am tired now checking daily in royal mail site and this form and trackitt.

But there is no good news from any one abt their extension. Now m really nt bothered as my wife cant travel to India on 21st. I was waiting eagerly bt it dint come.

Duvuuri,

I am sorry that your wife should postpone hr travel. What happens if someone should travel for their job and the passport is with HO. Can we ask them to give us the passport for the immidate travel and send back to them. I need to travel in Jan and should apply for Schengen visa early in Dec.

Mah,

I know a guy called prashanth in trackitt he applied for his extension on 23rd october reached HO on 26th fee debited on 28th. He made a special request i mean urgent treatment as he and his dependent had to attend for his brother marriage. He got his extension on 14th nov

So i guess u can write a letter to HO if u have any official work.

But i feel he dint get his extension coz of the letter he wrote bt acc to timelines only he got his visa.

And i guess u shud b getting ur visa before ur leave to remain expiry by the way when is it. If all ur docs r right they maynt take much time.

Hi Duvvuri,

I also applied on 2nd November and fee deducted on 4th Nov. I am expecting by this week or begining of next week. but after observing the trackit site many of them those applied after 26 th of October are still waiting for the docs.

thanks
Raj

my visa expiry date is May 2010. But I applied earlier to be on the safe side.
Problem is I have no reference No to communicate with HO.
Do you know when they will finish the post strike. And How long does it take to receive our documents after they send by Royal Post?

Wht do u mean strike. there is no strike going now. So whenever they send if u have put self addressed it wnt take more than 1 day to get ur docs. If u have ur tracking no. keep trying in royal mail site.

Sometime they dnt use our self addressed and send thru their recorded delivery. so cant say.

And raj there is no way tht u arrange for self delivery. If u dint keep self addressed then may b u can send fax asking them to let u know if decision is taken and u want ur documents return thru courier.

Good to hear there is no strike. I didn't send self addressed one. So no tracking.

Should wait for the father Christmas to bring the visa :-)

Congrats Duvvuri, although it dint come in time for your wife's flight on the 20th, at least there was no glitch with your approval.

Enjoy your success!!

It would be helpful for others to have a complete timeline from you now.

Cheers.

thanks ramesh. It went very simple i guess i was unnecessarily tensed. But now i ll feel like tht coz i got my approval.

One thing i observed is generally when HO take ur fees frm tht day they will take max 3-4 weeks at max. My fees was deducted on 3rd nov which was tuesday and again yesterday my application was approved.

Thanks
