Tech,

I thought you have a long way to go before applying for FLR i.e. April 2006. Did you find a job in your field?

Hello Smit,

:) Yea I got a very good job in my field. But it took time. If you remember me you told me that earlier.
I am a matured person and had put everything at stake comming to UK from home.

I got a proper contract, Offer letter, Pay slips, Technical work, Company benefits etc now in my HSMP approved profession.

I have a bad habit of asking something which I already know :D

Thanks Smit

Tech,

I am pleased to hear that you are working in your chosen field. I hope you are less worried about getting your extension now.

Just remember that you should apply 5-8 weeks prior to expiry of your initial 1 year EC, I have heard cases of WP(UK) returning applications sent earlier than these time frames.

I am afraid about my extension

Post by fabiopg » Fri Nov 25, 2005 6:50 pm

Hi guys,

My name is Fabio and my old user id fabio-p (I have forgotten my password).

I would like some advice from you, as I am afraid about my HSMP renew.

I don't know why but it's been very difficult for me to find a job in London, anyway today I have got an offer, but with a low salary, 17K year. That’s my details:

HSMP Visa Dates: from 26/04/2005 to 15/04/2006
Arrived in London: 24/07/2005
I haven't asked any public funds (and I won't)

I am worried because I stayed four months unemployed and due to this low salary. Do you think I will be able to renew my visa in march?

Cheers.

Hello Fabio,

Nothing to worry. For extension you have to be economically active and have not claimed any public funds. Magnitude of earnings is immaterial.

Are you working in your profession?

You will get extension.

HSMP renewal doubts

Post by sri2uk » Mon Nov 28, 2005 2:23 pm

Hi Technician
I have a query may be its already been answered in this forum but I was not able to find it yet.
My HSMP expires on Feb 22 2006
Can I apply for an extenison now that is on 1st of Dec 2005?
I am presently working in the same company from which I applied for HSMP
I have 12 months pay slip
I have 12 months bank transaction statments
Can even get a reference letter from the HR stating that I am working with them.
Should I keep my orginal contract letter which I kept last time when I applied?
If these have been answered already please paste the link
thanks in advance

Sri,

If I may comment, a friend of mine very recently had a similar question and rang up the WP (UK) team.

He was advised that where people submitted extension applications too early (presumably more than 5-8 weeks before the expiry of the 1 year period), then provided they were economically active, they would get an extension of 3 years from the date the application was processed (not the date of expiry of the initial 1 year period) and it was made clear that this would affect the ILR application (he would need to make a second application for FLR).

My friend has decided to wait it out and apply nearer his expiry date. If you decide to apply now, please keep us updated on the outcome of your application.

Hi Smith

Thanks for the reply. I have already lived in this country for 1.5 years on WP, so I think it will not affect my ILR position as Home office will consider my stay with WP also for the ILR
am I right on this or else will they only consider my HSMP stay for the ILR ??

Sri,

In that case you have nothing to worry about as you can amalgamate the time spent on your WP with HSMP to qualify for ILR after 4 years.

What remains to be seen is whether the recent advice given to my friend by WP(UK) is followed by them or not.

Contacted FLR team for the query

Post by sri2uk » Tue Nov 29, 2005 9:58 am

Hi All
I mailed the FLR team (the email address which was against my surname) and got a reply immedeately. They told that I can apply for an extension immedeately and also adviced me to keep an Urgent treatment form with it so that I will be getting it ASAP for my travel.
thanks for your advices

Hi guys,

This site has been very helpful in preparing my application for hsmp. I thank the immigrationboards.com team for this.

I came to in UK in July 3, 2005 and got a job as Branch Manager with a finance comany. But my chosen field was IT. In that case, will it create any problem for me when I apply for extension. My wife also came in UK in August, but she has not got a job.

thanks and regards

HSMP Extension period

Post by busa » Mon Dec 05, 2005 5:15 pm

Hi,

I have met lot of people who have come to UK on HSMP... very encouraging :D

And like applying for HSMP, the HSMP extension has its own myths. I understand the normal extension period is 3 years. But I have heard the extension given periods varying from 1 year to 5 years. Is this true / possible ?

HSMP Extension for contractors

Post by busa » Mon Dec 05, 2005 5:21 pm

Hi,

I have been working on contract position in IT. So I dont get any experience letter from my client. But I do get my weekly payslips from my umbrella company. I will also get my P45 and P60.

Does it affect my HSMP extension?

busa,

It does'nt effect u'r extension. But send them all the proof's you have like
Job Contract, Pay Slips and Bank Statements

And you should be fine.

Post by busa » Tue Dec 06, 2005 12:27 pm

ND,

Thanks for the information. I have my contract offers and pay slips.

Out of curiosity...

Extension Period

Post by busa » Tue Dec 06, 2005 5:46 pm

Thanks Smit and ND. That means it is very likely that few of my above posts will be deleted by Moderators

Is there any know case where the extension is given for less than or more than three years?

Cheers.

I havent heard of anyone getting an HSMP extension of more that three years. Sometimes when the case workers are not satisfied with your economic activities they may give you extension of only a year. That happens especially in cases where the applicant remains unemployed during the initial one year.

Got My Approval

Post by sri2uk » Tue Dec 13, 2005 10:16 am

Thanks to ppl who have adviced me regarding the extension
Got the passports back.
Sent on 01/12/05
Amount taken on 02/12/05
Receipt on 05/12/05 dated 02/12/05
Called WP on 07/12/05 (Got confirmation that passport as gone for stamping)
Got PP 13/12/05

Stamping valid till feb 2009 even though I sent it 2 months earlier its validity period is calculated from the end of my first stamping. My first stamping validity ends on feb 27 2006 so the second stamping validity is the same ....feb 27 2009

Sri,

Congratulations and thanks for confirming your HSMP extension date and application timeframes.

Assume next application will be for ILR.
