Calling all Tier-1 extention visa holders

Post by imran22 » Thu Dec 03, 2009 9:34 am

Hello gals and guys,

Like many other on the forum I got my extension last month. Now next step is ILR, I know its 3 years away but I wanted to think about it from now on so that I have everything I need at that time. I know laws keep on changing but I just wanted to discuss what others think we should take care of.
I know one is how many days you stayed outside UK. According to what I read till now you can get into difficulty if you have spend more than 180 days (correct me if I am wrong) outside UK in last five years at the time of extension.

Are there any other things we should take care of?
Does an IGS/SEGS visa count towards the 5 year period?

If anyone else has any more questions regarding this feel free to post

thanks

Imran : One major thing to note would be the new rules coming into effect in mid 2011.
