Just to let you know that I used my Citibank VISA Debitcard and the money is now deducted without any issues. So I would say that you dont have to worry even if the application does not mention VISA Debit card.

Visa delay

Post by praveenambattu » Wed Dec 02, 2009 10:58 am

Hai all,

I sent my tier 1 application form on 27/10/2009, and got reference number dated 4/11/2009. I havent yet received my passport and documents back. When phoned them up, they said they wont provide any information untill 14 weeks. I see from the previosu posts that people applied after me already got the visa !

Hi Shiva, I guess your no 5 is also for maintenance for both of you. What's your earning period?
It might also help to have your timelines posted.

Dec 2008 till Nov 2009 is the earning period. No.5 is also for Maintenance of Funds, I approached HSBC bank for a letter to confirm the balance for 3 months but they said Banks Statements are enough if anything required Home Office would contact the bank.

By the way, I used my HSBC Mastercard Credit Card to pay the fee. Do I need to inform Credit card company?

This side of X'mas sounds optimistic. I doubt if those dilligent, hardworking government workers will work a day beyond 18th until the new year.

Shove the papers and roast the Turkey.

I have used the same credit card. I called HSBC to inform them about the impending payment, but they said there is no need, but they will still put a note.

Quick qsn, when did you apply? How did you get your bank stmts for full November and apply so quickly? Today is only 2nd.

statements were till 25th Nov. Basically to show 12 months salary, I have included bank statements from 16th Dec till 25th Nov as my salary credits on 25th of every month.

Thaks for posting your timeline Shiva. I'm sure its in trackitt as well.

By the way does anybody know how one shall receive application reference number. For the initial application, perhaps I didn't bother.
This time it has started bugging me.

Does it come in post or in email?
Do we need to call and get that proactively?
Does it ever come?

HSMP maybe,

I too was thinking about the same. As we both posted our application on the Monday, I am planning to wait until Saturday I am giving them a call on Monday if I have had no post / mail.

Also, I noticed today that £920 (my fee + 2 dependants) has gone as single transaction. I expected it to be £820 + £50 + £50. Usually does the fee get reflected as 1 transaction or multiple ones?

For me it's showing as separate transactions of 50 and 820 on 1st Dec from Croydon Office. But I doubt, if these make any differences.

Does it worth calling them? From what I heard in this forum, they let the caller hold on for 10 minutes and then they are being told unless its 14 wks, they wouldn't move thier lips and fingers. Ofcourse that's for status, may be an altogether different pleasant experience if you call for reference number. I don't know.

It is not worth calling them if you havent received your visa 14 weeks after your application filed. I tried and failed 2 days ago. Also I could learn from trackitt that some people didnt receive any refernec number, but got visa in a month. I got the reference number 6 working days after I sent my application.
