Absence period for dependents when applying for ILR

Post by gidoc » Wed Dec 09, 2009 8:04 pm

Hi all,
For those who have had ILR for self and dependents, please confirm:

period of single absence <90 days and total absence <180days, also applies to dependents or is it only for main applicant?
Many thanks

hi
the number of days your dependents are outside uk arent relevant . it is the number of days the main applicant has been away. 90 consecutive days outside the uk , you can expect questions about the absences. was outside the uk for 250 days over 5 years but the amount was ok according to person at p.e.o who checked documents etc. the longest stint outside uk was for 80 days which was ok because it was under 90 days. had letters from employer to account for days absent for business in case the homeoffice wanted me to explain the absences.
