family permits! please read and see if you can help me!!

so i have a family permit for 6 months, multiple entry
question:
1. can i go to the UK without my mother (she is the EEA citizen) ?
2. can they see wether my mother is currently in the UK or not?
3. when i get there if my mother and i decide to become residents where do we apply? how long does it take? and can i stay even though my family permit has expired?
4. is there anotother kind of permit i can apply for once im in the uk to stay longer??
5. also can i get my family permit renewed here (belgium) at the embassy? do i have to refill all the same forms?

thank you so much for your help, really in dire need of advice!!
p.s im not an EEA citizen my mother is
my family permit runs out on 27/1/10

1. Yes, providing she is already in the UK and you are joining her there.

2. No.

3. a) Your mother may apply for a Registration Certificate if she intends to stay longer than three months and if she is a qualified person (a worker, a self-employed person, a student enrolled in a course of study, or is financially self-sufficient). In this case, you may apply for a Residence Card.
b) Six months.
c) Yes, if your mother also stays and is a qualified person.

4. Yes (the Residence Card). See above.
