You can enter Uk till your visa is Valid.. there will not be any problem..

about Future, things are change at quick phase.. as per todays rules for ILR you should have entered with 28days of visa start but as things are changing.. dont worry abt it now..

Hi tvn_ramesh,

For ILR ,Is it required to enter within the 28 days of visa stamp date ?

or

If we enter the UK with a visa more after the date from which it was valid for use, we may need to apply for an extension of stay to complete the relevant
qualifying period which is 5 years.

Can you please clear me on this.

Yes if you enter after 28days requires 1 extra extension..

Ramesh,

My understanding until now is that you have 180 days time in 5 years time frame that you may be off, covers the initial lag as well.

Hope I was able to put the point to you!

vks

@ VKS i am just answering his entry question..

i agree with you on the 180days in 5years...

this is my understanding:

1. Enter with 28days of visa validty start (will not required extra extension of 3+2
2. max days out of Uk in 5years is 180days
3. Not more than 90days off in 1year
4. Should not be out 3months at a stretch (90days);
5. Official visits with proofs are excempted..

hope i am clear now..

Oh my god!

I have been in the UK after 70 days of Visa start date, due to personal reasons(also unaware of this forum)..So as per point 1, I need to renew the visa again after 2 + 3.

Because your ILR clock starts from the date you enter UK... unfortunately not from the date visa is stamped

Just for argument sake...Would it not be sufficient, if I am not out of the UK more than 180 days from the day the Visa is stamped?

No VKS it will not.

As Ramesh said, the ILR clock starts only the first landing date and not Visa start date.

Any references that clearly explains this requirement would be helpful?
