Quick question: taking a trip tonight!

I totally forgot to ask this question.

I'm a US citizen who is currently an EU family residency card applicant.
I haven't received it yet (though I have proof I've applied).

I'm going with my husband to England (via Stanstead Airport) tonight for Christmas.

I know I'm allowed to go through passport control with him if I have the card... but I don't have it yet.



Can I still go in the EU line with him?

As a US Citizen alone you can visit the UK, if you don't plan to stay, then it is a simple visit. If you plan to stay, then Border Control may not allow you to enter based on this intention unless you explain to them regarding the residency card.

Quick answer, no, you have to go through the non-EU line.

Because she doesn't have the EEA visa and as such is considered a non-EU national.
