The more information you have the more chances of error. Keep it simple. Leave this to your accountant and you look other important stuff. There are standard letters and format used by accountants and if you change it by giving lots of irrlevant information then HO could be suspicious without any reason.

Hope you get the point!

And one more thing next time dont find a lazy accountant who cannot write a standard letter!

Thanks for your reply, but simple & silly mistakes costs life..

please tell me one thing,, if the accountant give letter under firm name, does the firm has to be in the acca register or not?

Accountant did not mention his full name under the bottom of certficate, for example if the name is Gordon Brown, he just printed as G.Brown.with his certificate no:xxxxxxxx. is that o.k?

If this letter is for some other purpose, i dont care... but it is life issue for me and my family.....

If your accountant is ACCA then his firm's name should be there in the ACCA database. See link to find the details of any ACCA registered firm.

https://www.acca-business.org/pls/ecomm ... _find_firm

Similarly, you should be able to find any ACA registered firm on ICAEW's website.

Writing initial is not a problem as long as he is authoised to practice and registered with professional body.

Good luck.

before finalising accountant please confirm he is practsing aca / acca

an accountant should

ask u to sign aggrement for work which must sort out all this issue

Agreement for work includes responsibility of accountant and client , money laundering, scope of work , fees etc etc .

when i check the database ,his original firm name comes as registered with acca and his name is registered in acca..

but My accountant original letter head is with his trading name xxxx..
But he did not mention his original firm name any where in the letter head.. and it is leagal requirement to mention the original name on the bottom of the letter head..

How do Home office know about his original firm name? when they check the firm name as per the trading name on the letter, it will not return any results.. hence no points for earnings...

.. Thats the reason, i am thinking include the sentence in the letter , saying" abc associate (trading as xyz associates ), the practise id , acting as accountants for mr tony reed..

As per Tier 1 guidance, you have to provide contact details of sources mentioned in "previous earnings" section of your application. If your accountant's contact details are present in his letter, that is fine. You write same in your application. If HO people require to confirm anything from your accountant, they will contact him. It should not be so complicated as it is appearing from your posts.
