Unlikely, these are (were) the rules for Artists visa;
i. Has established himself /herself outside the UK as a writer, composer or artist primarily engaged in producing original work which has been published (other than exclusively in newspapers or magazines), performed or exhibited for its literary, musical or artistic merit; and
ii. Does not intend to work except as related to his self employment as a writer, composer or artist; and
iii. Has for the preceding year been able to maintain and accommodate himself/herself and any dependants from his/her own resources without working except as a writer, composer or artist; and
iv. Will be able to sustain and accommodate himself/herself and any dependants from his/her own resources without working as a writer, composer or artist and without recourse to public funds.
