Strange situation - Can I get ILR NOW

Post by krishna186 » Tue Jan 12, 2010 5:31 pm

Hi,

I was a single work permit since Nov 1997 to Sep 2004 with extensions applied in UK many a times . Please note that I came on 6 month WP to start and have extended later many a times . I should have applied for ILR then , but did not do so. I had to leave UK back to my home country in Sep 2004 and re-ntered UK on a new Work permit and Visa issued outside UK in Nov 2004 AND LEFT uk again in Dec 2004 . ( My WP was valid until May 2005 )

I had then come to UK on a Business Visa Valid from August 2005 for few weeks. went back to my home country and reentered UK on another new work permit valid from Sep 2005 and had two extensions sicne then till June 2008 and I moved to Tier 1 in May 2008 valid till May 2011. I know that I am eligible for ILR based on my recent work permit plus Tier 1 in Sep 2010 but wanted to check with Gurus of this fi I can apply for ILR based on my previous stays in UK . Please do note that I had more than 180 days gap during my initial stay from 1997 to 2004 ( about 500 days )

regards,

Whenever you complete 5 years qualifying period from the date you entered UK on WP in 2005.
