Planning to Move to the UK in Jan from Bangalore

Post by Anil Gajula » Sun Dec 13, 2009 1:04 pm

Hi,

I have got my Tier 1 General visa in April 09. And I am planning to move to the UK, in Jan/Feb 10. So, would there be any challanges while immigration, as there is a gap of 10 months in this movement?

Would it be a problem, in future, for me on Extension of the visa...?

Please, suggest.

Thanks
Anil

This has been asked plenty of times, i suggest looking through the tier 1 forum and also doing a search and your question will be answered.

I would like to know the same if immigration officer would ask us questions on why I didnt come earlier. Mine was approved in feb 09 and I'm planning to travel in Feb 2nd week 2010. so its almost a year gap. My expertise is on telecom OSS / NMS solution development, integratiom and support.

I may have read somewhere that you need to be in within six months of getting visa, but I may confuse with something else. Check with Home Office website or wait for other members to respond.
Immigration officers, INHO, do not ask too many questions if you have valid visa and you are not one of those 'profiled' passengers nowadays. Just answer truthfully and you will be colleting baggage in no minutes.

6 mths only for entry clearance

Post by Idea » Wed Jan 13, 2010 12:34 pm

the entry clearance (visa) must be obtained withing 6 mths of getting the hsmp/tier 1 approval - travel date is not an issue

You are talking about pre-Tier1 days. Tier1 is 1 stage process now.
