GNIB opening hours

Post by csr » Thu Jan 14, 2010 5:02 pm

Does any one knows the opening hours of GNIB these days?
Does it open on Saturdays as well?
The page on www.garda.ie is removed. Called the phone number "no response".

If you're referring to the main GNIB office in Dublin:

Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 10.00pm
Friday 8.00am to 4.00pm.
Students will not be registered before 9.00am.
However, if you are living outside of the Dublin Metropolitan Region, you should find your local GNIB office (Garda station). They make their own arrangements with regards to opening days / times.
I am no longer posting publicly on this website - PM me if needed.

additional to banifa's answer:

it is opening at 8am but during busy seasons such as from Sep-Nov
you can see people queing outside the GNIB office from 3am in the morning.

because they only issue a certain amount of tickets everyday.
i was there in Nov last year, i got there at 6:30..my ticket number was 3 hundred something and finally i was dealed at around 7pm in the evening

best of luck!

it should be really quiet these months tho

Any current experiences from people or advice on when is best to go to GNIB. Husband has been queing there for 3 hrs already and still hasn't been given a number. Is it better to go at 7AM when they close, or perhaps later in the evening?

  I thought INIS has moved on from this. Looks like they've returned to the old days when we used to camp overnight at Harcourt street to renew our registration. This is pathetic :x
