Tier4 student dependent visa funds

Post by anilmech » Fri Jan 08, 2010 10:26 am

Hi
I am doing Phd in bristol and planning to apply for Tier4 student dependent visa for my wife and daughter.

I have few questions in this regard.

1. I am planning to show 7200 pounds (400 pounds per month each for 9 months) i.e. Rs 5.5 lakh approx... As my wife & daughter r applying at same time..i am keeping 5.5lakh cash in my wife's salary account only........ Is it ok?

2. Main doubt : my wife and daughter r applying for visa in Feb 2010 end but will be coming to UK in May 2010......

a) So even after getting the visa.. 5.5lakh cash i have to keep it in my wifes account or accounts which i am showing as proof of maint fund till they arrive in uk.... ?

b) During immigration check at entry of UK..whther again they have to show the latest bank statement for 7200 pounds to immigration officer ?

thanks
anil

Hi anil

Recently i have applied for dependent visa it was refused on basis that i need to show balance of student + dependent in my case they ask for 9000 pound as balance so if u can produce bank balance of your as well showing ur fund , u got greater chance of approval buddy.

cheers Rahul

Hi Rahul,
Thanks.
Actually i am getting a schoolarship..which is full tuition fees plus 800 pounds each month for my maintance.

a) Whether if i show a letter from university stating sponsorship, whether it is enough?

or

b) I should show letter from univ plus my UK bank account but in this case i have a problem bec i transfered maximum amount back to india..

As per me (b) option is better but it is risky as max amount is transfered from it back to india.

Please suggest me should i go for (a) or (b) option..?

thanks
anil

Letter from university will help but it stated on website you need same balance in your savings/current a/c so my suggestion will be show both bank as well as university as well as sponsorship letter.

If there is less money in bank u borrow some money will be added advantage of your fund &

It will be proof that university money is getting deposited in the bank, if u show only university letter u are taking chances for visa so its your final call

Roughly i estimate u need to show your 800+ 400 (for wife) + 400 (your child) * 9 month = 14,400

Assuming you are staying outside london if inside per dependent u need to show i suppose it 600

As u are receiving your maintenance you will definitely need letter from university and bank account

Regards
Rahul
