See.. In your case it isn't late.. give the application atleast 40 - 45 days.. Rest assured that u would get a reply and u wont be losing any of your documents.. Just keep a track on ur application..Nobody can give any information about your visa application status or why it may be late.. It's for u to find out by phoning/mailing or checking online with the home office.. so u should be doing that.. and while you are here, you could maybe answer some of the other questions on the forum.. thanks..

As far as I am aware of, you can definitely call the home office and quote your visa reference number to check up on it.. Didn't u read ur acknowledgement letter?

Dear Bond and STk,

I rang home office on fri day that is 22nd Jan 2010. I have been replied that since it has only been 5 weeks when u sent your passport, we cant tell you any thing in relevant to your visa application. We would do this after a time frame of 14 given weeks has passed. I did not found any benefit of ringing them. You may try from your side.

Regards
Vamiq

Yes, then can always tell you to contact them if 14 weeks has elapsed.
However, their ignorant is well noticed everywhere, they don't treat applicants professionally.

I guess there are Junior Case Workers and Senior Case workers who can take decisions on cases that is a bit complex or has some doubt.
The Junior Case worker who received the file as allocation will process it quickly if meets all requirements beyond reasonable doubt.
if they are in doubt, or requires verification, they will refer your file to a senior case worker to make decision on such level of complex case.

And there might be much cases with complexity than those without, and so senior case workers will have lots of the files packed.
when he reviews it, he can then approve the decision made by a junior case worker or change the decision.

this is why people receive their visa quick and others don't as it does not follow serially, each case is consider on merits with all its goodies and troubles.
hope they will look into your case soon, and you will hear from them within days of touching your file to validate the junior case workers decision or write you for further information/direction

A story from an ex-case worker sacked for some back door deal

PSW is for 2 years only, and if anybody has received his PSW 3months and over from the date of application, when did it start to count the 2 years

1. From Date of Application
2. From Date of Processed (Few Days before delivery)

I am worried cos, if one receive the PSW after months, and it is counted from date of application, that means 15months to go.

share your idea

Date of application = 18 Dec 2009
Passport Received = 29 Dec 2009
I did a mistake. I sent old photographs with my application. Later when I realized that they are not acceptable, I sent new photographs though HO didnt ask me for tht. It is because of this blunder, it took another two week.

Did you include special delivery envelope in your application?

Did you have different home address , correspondence address? If yes, check both addresses.

Hope you receive good news next week.
