What is the minimum Earnings required in past 12 months

Post by sudha.x.dash2008 » Sun Jan 31, 2010 8:05 am

Hi All,

I am hunting for the information on this.I enquiried with 3 consultant and the answer varies evrytime.I am so confused.

Two of the consultant said with 4.5 lacs per year, you will score 35 points for earnings, so I am eligible and one said it should be 6 lacs and so I am not eligible.I am getting 20 points only for earnings in the later case.

If someone could please help me.Is ayone travelled recently by their own could be able to clarrify what is it as per the new rules.

Thanks and Regards,
Sudha.

Hi. You can calculate your salary base on the table below and for more information you need to visit

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/worki ... s/#header4

You can score up to 45 points for your earnings. The points awarded for salaried employment or self-employed earnings are:
Previous earnings Points
£16,000 - £17,000 (Extension applications only) 5
£18,000 - £19,999 (Extension applications only) 10
£20,000 - £22,999 15
£23,000 - £25,999 20
£26,000 - £28,999 25
£29,000 - £31,999 30
£32,000 - £34,999 35
£35,000 - £39,999 40
£40,000 + 45

you can use the conversion rate mentioned on the following website.

http://www.oanda.com/currency/converter/

We only consider actual earnings, and will not consider earnings claimed on a pro rata basis. For example, if you have worked part-time you cannot try to claim for what you might have earned if it was full-time work.

Earnings will not be taken into account if you were in breach of the immigration laws when you made the earnings.

The uplift ratio for India is 5.3 (assuming that you are from India).
So, 450000 X 5.3 = 2385000, when converted into pounds is 32537 (today's rate in oanda.com is 73.30) and you will get 35 points for that as it falls into 32000-34999 band. But, because it is very close to the lower limit and if the exchange rate goes to somewhere around 74.6, then you will get only 30 points . Hope that helps.
