Hi Ramesh,

Shall i use acrobat editor to fill in the application forms, or is it mandatory that the forms needs to be filled in manually.

if yes, shall i remove few boxes, and make one large box to fill in all details for a single employer...

of course i'll maintain the page formating

please advice

Thanks & Regards

Hi Ramesh,

One more query, in personal details form section 5.1 Is your partner accompanying you or joining you later? what does it mean ( i'm married and have a kid) but not applying dependent migrant now... but if everything goes fine they will join me after a year or so.

Shall i say that they will be joing me later. and give all details about my spouse and kid

Thanks & Regards

Hi Ramesh,

Sorry to interuppting you. Just i got a person who applied recently and got the visa and arrived UK. He said as follows...

This section will be cross verifed when we are applying dependent visa for spouse & kid in future... so it will be fine to fill in the details.

I'm not sure on his statement, that's why i raised the query... if you are more clear on this point please advice me...

Thanks & Regards

Hi Ramesh,

Few more queries...
1. POINTS BASED SYSTEM FORM (VAF9 OCT 2009)
APPENDIX 1: TIER 1 (GENERAL) MIGRANT
SELF- ASSESSMENT

The reference guide says as follows "Applicants should use the closing spot exchange rate which appears on Oanda for the last day of the period for which they have claimed earnings in that currency. "

I refered http://www.oanda.com/currency/converter i selected date as 01/31/2010 (i'm claiming from Feb 2009 to Jan 2010) because that is my last date of earning period, it's showing 73.3076.

My doubt 1:

When i selected 01/31/2010, it's showing "GBP/INR for the 24-hour period ending Saturday, January 30, 2010 22:00 UTC" under Market Rates, which is just below the Hide Details.

When i selected 02/01/2010 (1st Feb 2010), the rate was 73.7686 and it's showing "GBP/INR for the 24-hour period ending Sunday, January 31, 2010 22:00 UTC" under Market Rates, which is just below the Hide Details.

Please advice which one i should go for ?

My Doubt 2:

Column Earnings in Pound Sterling - what should i put,
(let's say my earnings since feb 2009 to jan 2010 before tax 7,00,000 and the Exchange rate as on 31/Jan/2010 was 73.3076) should i put (7,00,000 / 73.3076) = 9548.805 or (7,00,000 / 73.706) * 5.3 = 50608.67 (this 5.3 is for my country band falls in D and the multiplier is 5.3), Please advice me what should i put 9548.805 or 50608.67

Thanks & Regards

- I "think" you have to use uplift ratio in this case.. pls wait for any others to confirm this..

Please confirm this

Post by concept » Tue Jun 01, 2010 5:23 am

Hi everyone,
I need a confirmation on what Ramesh's reply here. I am planning to apply for tier1 and my earning period ends on may 31st. To find the excahnge rates in oanda, when I enter may 31 the converter shows rates for "period ending may 30" and only when i enter june 1 it shows rates for "period ending may 31". Kindly advise me on what I should use.

This is very critical for me since I will be eligible only if I use "period ending may 31".

thanks,

Hi,

if your earning period ends on 31/May then take the conversion date as 31/May, even though it shows "period ending may 30".... i did the same... and got my visa...

Better you start a new thread... you will get noticed and get replies soon... rather than following already existing threads...
