Grace period 28 days - doc

Post by letmec2006 » Wed Feb 03, 2010 7:22 pm

Can somebody please provide the official document regarding the grace period of 28 days after the visa expiry. Visa expired now but applied for Teir 1 and not sure if we can work. Hoping to get visa before 28 days.
Thanks in advance.

If you have applied before expiry of your leave then, you will have the same immigration status till a decision is made. So, if that visa allowed you to work then you are allowed to work.

hi, i have sent ukba regarding some thing and i got automated message back to my email saying that the same status will be continued untill the decision has been made.

so the best thing to trick the employer is send a email to ukba just asking the question and immediately u will get automated email with a large chunk of the data along with ur question.. just take print out or forward to ur email...

so that the employer will believe

Or you could take a print out or direct your employer to Section 3C document from sushdmehta's post above.

No need for tricks! The above link takes you to the official Immigration Directorate Instructions that deals with "continuity of leave" when applications are under consideration with UKBA.
